Pitmikie isn’t just a kennel business, this is our way of life. It’s a family farm where, over fours ago, we started taking in friends’ dogs while they travelled — and never stopped.
The farm came first. Pitmikie has been in our family 7 years in the Angus countryside. The kennel grew sideways out of it — quietly, by word of mouth, one dog at a time.
We didn’t set out to run a business. We set out to give dogs the kind of stay we’d want for our own: open fields, regular meals, real beds, and humans within earshot day and night. The fact that we still cap at sixty dogs is on purpose. Past that and you stop knowing names.
